Standard
The runartist starts their device and records their activity until they reach the end point. They then stop and save the run. This is the preferred method for creating a #runart piece.
Pausing
The device can be paused at various points throughout the creation of the piece. If the runartist re-starts their device from a different position a straight line is created between the two locations. This is a useful technique when negotiating railway lines or rivers which cannot be safely crossed in the desired place.
Multiple
A runartist may choose to draw several pieces and display them as one complete image. For example, letters may be individually drawn (across a city, for example) and then collated using image editing software in order to spell out a word. This technique is particularly useful for avoiding having joining lines in between the letters.
